Remarks
|
Introduced
to control crop pests this species is now considered a major threat
to native species in many parts of the world. It is a forest dwelling
species in its native country, however in the Philippines it is virtually
never found in forest and it is not known to have replaced any native
Philippine amphibians (Alcala and Brown 1998). It is a regular prey
item of Varanus salvator on Polillo. |
