| Remarks |
The
decline of this near-threatened species is largely attributed to
hunting and habitat loss, activities that have really taken their
toll on much of Polillo's avifauna. Our surveys observed a small
number of individuals from only Patnaungan and Panukulan, with a
single breeding pair being observed in Panukulan. The subspecies
is therefore considered extremely at risk.
